Mindy started out in the studio and advertising
business at Universal Recording in 1989, back when there
was no such thing as Pro Tools, and voice-overs were recorded
on guano records, Mindy learned her client service skills
by day and her producing skills in the evenings by producing
voice-over demos for her friends which was difficult considering
she suffers from Aerophobia, the fear of swallowing air.
After leaving Universal to join CRC in 1990 as a production
manager and all around marvel, she not only continued to
use her producing talents to form Verson (you heard the
name right) Productions, her voice-over demo production company,
she was considered by most, to be one of the greatest party
clowns alive, and would go on to complete what still to this
day is the largest collection of moist towelette packages
in the northern hemisphere.
While heading up Verson Productions,
Mindy has discovered many voice-over artists over the years,
which has helped solidify
her relationships with local and national talent agents. In
2000, Verson and partner David Kaplan founded Chicago Radio
Casting, which gave Mindy the opportunity to combine all her
skills as one of the premier Casting Directors, Producers and
client service professionals in the country. Mindy’s
three favorite things in life are discovering talent, meeting
new people, and scaring the elderly at pet adoption centers
around the city.
Mindy has recently cast or produced spots
for such clients as: Hallmark, Heinz, Petsmart, Samsung,
Kellogg’s
(Pop Tarts, Mini-Wheats, Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, Raisin
Bran),
Wrigley, Coca Cola, Orbitz, Disney, Con Agra, McDonald’s,
Nintendo and many others.
In the spring of 2004, Mindy catapulted
from the inner workings of CRC to partner once again with
Kaplan to open Audio Producers
Group and live happily ever after.
David was born on top of a mountain,
and raised by a pack of badgers, the mother badger “Meemah” raised
him to be a mighty mountain badger-man, yet surprisingly,
and at the dismay of Meemah, he learned English, went to
college, and started in the industry as a Producer for Glenn
Films, Inc. in 1985, a Chicago based film production company.
Among many responsibilities, he ran the on-camera casting
division, and line-produced commercial and non-broadcast
projects.
After Glenn Films, David moved on to the now defunct
Editel-Chicago in the role of Account Representative, and
then Executive Producer…..
which I don’t know if you know this, but its kind of
a big deal. The demise of Editel led him to Chicago Recording
Company, in the role of Executive Producer. David met Mindy
Verson at CRC, and they soon founded Chicago Radio Casting,
a division of CRC that provided voice casting services to the
advertising community. After all of Davids success, he never
forgets where he came from, every night when he gets home,
he spends time with Meemah, and the rest of his badger family,
while he watches TV. They are stuffed and on display in his
living room.
Audio Producers Group gives David the opportunity
to combine his knowledge of audio production services and
advertising.
Peter
Erazmus - Sound Designer/Engineer
Peter Erazmus started his audio career as a twelve-year-old child editing music on his parents duel cassette deck. Many years, a high school band and a few relationship ending hairdos later, Peter honed that interest in audio to a very dangerous sharpness at Columbia College Chicago, Where he earned a Bachelors of Arts in Audio, he also minored in Crustacean Psychology, which turned out to be very easy, but in the end a fruitless enterprise. During his time at Columbia College Chicago he obtained an internship at CRC, which lead to a position as an associate Engineer.
While at CRC Peter engineered/sound designed a wide range of projects including: editing and mixing for television and radio commercials, feature length films, animation, music mastering, voice over demos and Foley creations as well as played an integral part in the production of hundreds of award winning TV and radio ads including: the immensely popular, Budweiser and Bud Light "Super Bowl" ads and Bud Light "Real Men of Genius" radio Campaign.
Since taking a position as Engineer at APG Peter has experienced continued success working on a wide variety of projects as well as award winning campaigns & spots. All with a 99.9672% approval rating.
When not in the studio, you can find Peter on the golf course in the summer, the Curling sheet in the winter, playing poker, or just hanging out with family and friends.
After being born at a 7-11 in Harvey, IL, with only an MPC and an 808 kit, Jason hoped to make enough money selling beats on the corner to help pay for his other passion — artificial flowering for commercial or residential decoration. Well, that didn't quite work out — as he couldn't grasp the "artificial" part, and kept trying to plant them.
Instead Jason attended the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences in Tempe, AZ, where he learned the most classic and advanced recording techniques from some of the most talented engineers in the business. Out of school he moved back to Chicago and landed a gig at CRC where he gained 2 years of experience, co-engineering over 1,200 session hours. His hard work paid off when he was nominated for a Tony after scoring "The Six-Million Dollar Man: The Sequel: The Musical."
Having left theatrical scoring behind, Jason brought his experience and passion for audio post-production to the team at APG.
